Matt Berler: A Legacy for a Better Future

I’m sure that like me, you can clearly recall what it felt like the first time you set foot in the redwood forest.

My wife, Amy, and I believe so strongly in the work of the League that, in addition to our outright gift to Forever Forest: The Campaign for the Redwoods, we made an irrevocable legacy gift as well. We have utmost confidence this future gift will be used well, and we are happy to be leaving a legacy that will connect our children and grandchildren to the magic of the redwoods.

It’s my honor to be Chair of the Board at this pivotal moment in the League’s history as we focus on our three pillars of work—Protect, Restore, and Connect: protecting lands we love, restoring resilient forests, and re-establishing the human connection on new trails for the growing League community. Our work together offers what seems like an antidote to the friction and uncertainty of the past 2½ years.

We are so humbled and grateful for your unwavering support and your sustained commitment to the forests that inspire us to reimagine and rebuild a better future.
